About me and my Family
My name is Kira Minney, founder of Kamroschis (formerly Minney's Chihuahuas) and Minneys K9 Services.
Animals have always been at the heart of my life, and from a young age I knew I wanted to build a career working with them. What began as a childhood dream has grown into two businesses that allow me to share my passion every day—breeding healthy, well-socialised puppies and supporting dog owners and fellow breeders throughout their journey.
Alongside running Kamroschis, I also own Minneys K9 Services, where I provide services including canine microchipping and pregnancy ultrasound scanning. Working closely with so many dogs, breeders and families has given me invaluable experience that I bring back into my own breeding programme.
I'm married, and together we're raising our two children. As a family, we all play a part in the Kamroschis journey, and our dogs are first and foremost much-loved members of our home.
Every puppy is raised in a busy family environment, surrounded by everyday life, helping them grow into confident, well-rounded companions.
My Experience and Qualifications
My passion for animals began long before I considered breeding dogs. Growing up, I cared for a wide variety of pets including hamsters, gerbils, mice, rabbits, snakes, a leopard gecko, chickens, ducks, cats and dogs. Looking back, it's clear that my love for animals has always been a huge part of who I am.
At just 15 years old, I completed my GCSE work experience at a local breeding kennels. I loved it so much that I was offered a part-time position, where I continued working weekends and school holidays for over three years. This gave me my first real insight into responsible breeding, puppy care and the dedication involved in raising healthy, well-socialised dogs.
Following school, I studied Animal Management at Shuttleworth College, where I gained practical experience across a wide range of species. During lambing season, I volunteered on a local farm, assisting with the care of ewes and lambs before, during and after birth. I also worked closely with many of the college's breeding programmes, gaining hands-on experience with mice, meerkats, marmosets, pigs, goats, cattle, rhea and alpacas.
As part of my studies, I also completed a month-long placement at The Raptor Foundation, where I learned about the care, rehabilitation and handling of birds of prey while working closely with members of the public.
Since then, my passion for breeding has continued to grow. I began by breeding Mini Rex rabbits for the show world before establishing my own dog breeding programme, where I now focus on carefully planned Chihuahuas and Pomeranians. Every stage of my journey has helped shape the values behind Kamroschis—placing health, temperament, welfare and lifelong support at the centre of everything I do.

At Kamroschis, we believe that responsible breeding means never standing still. Animal care, breeding practices, health testing and veterinary knowledge are continually evolving, and we are committed to growing alongside them. Through ongoing education, professional qualifications and continued learning, we strive to provide the highest standard of care for both our own dogs and the families who welcome a Kamroschis puppy into their lives.
