Kamroschis Stud Service

At Kamroschis, we offer a limited, carefully managed stud service using our own proven males. Our focus is on producing healthy, well-tempered puppies that meet the breed standard, and we only accept suitable females that we feel will complement our boys.

We welcome both Kennel Club Registered and non-KC bitches. However, we reserve the right to decline any mating where we feel it would not be in the best interests of either dog or the breed.

Our standard stud fee is £250 and includes two natural mating's, approximately 48 hours apart (where possible). The stud fee is payable on the first successful mating (Slip ties included) and is non-refundable. We do not offer artificial insemination with our studs.

We ask that visiting bitches:

  • Are in good health and free from infectious disease.

  • Have appropriate progesterone testing carried out to ensure the best chance of success.

  • Are never left unattended with our stud dogs.

  • Remain the responsibility of their owner at all times whilst visiting.

Our boys live as much-loved family pets and are only used for carefully considered matings. Their welfare always comes first

Future Health Programme

As Kamroschis continues to develop, all breeding dogs are undergoing an expanding programme of DNA and breed-specific health testing. We believe health testing should continually evolve alongside scientific knowledge, and we are committed to producing the healthiest, happiest puppies possible while preserving excellent breed type and temperament.

If you are interested in using one of our boys, please contact us to discuss your bitch, health testing and breeding plans before making a booking.

Stud Service Information

Choosing the right stud dog is one of the most important decisions you'll make when planning a litter. A successful breeding is about far more than producing puppies—it should be about improving the breed, protecting health and producing puppies with excellent temperaments.

At Kamroschis, we are always happy to discuss whether one of our boys is the right match for your bitch. We believe every mating should be carefully planned and based on compatibility rather than convenience.

What We Consider

Before agreeing to any mating, we encourage owners to consider the following:

Pedigree & Coefficient of Inbreeding (COI)

Understanding your bitch's pedigree is essential. We recommend checking the Kennel Club Coefficient of Inbreeding (COI) wherever possible and considering how the two pedigrees complement one another. A lower COI can help maintain greater genetic diversity, although every pairing should be assessed individually.

Health

Health should always come before colour or appearance.

We encourage owners to complete all relevant health testing available for their breed, including any DNA testing and veterinary examinations appropriate to their individual dog. We are happy to discuss our own dogs' health testing and breeding decisions with genuine enquiries.

Temperament

Temperament is just as important as physical appearance. Both parents should be friendly, confident and stable in a variety of situations, as temperament has a significant influence on future generations alongside early puppy socialisation and upbringing

Unsuccessful Matings

Whilst we take every care to maximise the chances of a successful mating, pregnancy can never be guaranteed. Factors such as timing, fertility and the health of both dogs can all influence the outcome.

If your bitch does not become pregnant following a mating with one of our stud dogs, one complimentary repeat mating may be offered on her next suitable season provided that:

  • Progesterone testing was carried out prior to mating to accurately determine the optimum breeding time.

  • Canine fertility Clinic/Veterinary confirmation of the progesterone results were provided at the time of booking.

  • An ultrasound scan confirms that no pregnancy was established following the mating (32-38 days).

  • A copy of the ultrasound report or suitable veterinary evidence is supplied withing this time frame.

Where progesterone testing has not been undertaken, a complimentary repeat mating will not normally be offered, as it is impossible to determine whether the mating occurred during the correct fertile window.

The decision to offer a repeat mating remains at the discretion of Kamroschis and applies only to the original bitch mated.

Pregnancy Ultrasound Scanning

As the owner of Minneys K9 Services, I am able to offer professional canine pregnancy ultrasound scanning to help confirm whether a mating has been successful.

Scans can be carried out:

  • In the comfort of your own home through our mobile ultrasound service.

  • At my home by prior appointment to stud service customers only.

Please note that different fees apply depending on whether you choose a home visit or an appointment at my premises.

Using the same experienced scanner who has been involved throughout your breeding journey provides continuity of care and allows us to discuss the next stages of your bitch's pregnancy should she be expecting.

Our Policy

Kamroschis operates a small, selective breeding programme.

For the welfare of our dogs and the future of the breed, we reserve the right to decline any mating if we believe it would not be in the best interests of either dog or would not support responsible breeding practices.

We currently offer our stud dogs to purebred Chihuahuas only. Long Coat and Smooth Coat inter-variety matings are accepted and can be Kennel Club registered in accordance with current Kennel Club regulations.

Getting in Touch for more info.

If you are interested in using one of our stud dogs, please contact us via Facebook, Instagram, email or through our website. Our Linktree contains all of our contact information along with useful links relating to our breeding programme.

The more information you can provide about your bitch—including pedigree, health testing, DNA results, progesterone results and breeding goals—the better we can advise whether one of our boys is the right match.

Booking a Mating

Please contact us as soon as your bitch comes into season so we can discuss timings and availability.

We strongly recommend progesterone testing to accurately identify your bitch's most fertile days and maximise the chances of a successful mating. Every bitch is different, and relying solely on the number of days into a season can easily result in missed opportunities.

Our standard stud fee includes two natural mating's approximately 48 hours apart, where appropriate.

Owners are welcome to remain with their bitch during the mating. If alternative arrangements are required, these can be discussed in advance where evidence will be provided
